Digital loyalty card in Meknes
A digital loyalty card in Meknes has to fit a city with several rhythms: the Hamria new town, the medina around Place El Hedim, the residential districts and the students of Moulay Ismail University. Stampylo replaces the paper card with a digital card your customers keep on their phone, with no app to install.

Meknes, a city of very different customers
Meknes is one of Morocco's four imperial cities, and its historic city has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1996. The 2024 census counted 695,662 people in the municipality. Customers here are not one group: visitors passing between Bab Mansour and Place El Hedim, office workers and families in Hamria, the new town built after 1912, and residents of districts such as Marjane, Sidi Bouzekri, Bassatine, Zitoune or Toulal.
For a café or a snack, this means regulars differ from one district to the next. A useful loyalty card has to be simple, the same for everyone, and ask for nothing complicated at the counter.
How the digital loyalty card works in Meknes
The customer pays, scans the QR code at the counter with the phone camera and gets an order number. The ticket page shows how many orders are ahead and an estimated wait. When you tap “Ready” on the cashier screen, the phone rings. On iPhone, the page rings only while it stays open on screen; the “Enable alert” button keeps the screen on with a loud alarm.
- A stamp is added only when the order is confirmed ready: no stamp without a real order.
- The cashier sets the number of stamps for an order, for example two for a group order.
- The card is saved with one WhatsApp message and can go into Google Wallet. Apple Wallet is not available yet.
- The reward is redeemed at the counter with a 6-digit code.
Students, families, visitors: one rule
With the faculties and schools of Moulay Ismail University, part of the Meknes customer base is students, often careful with money and loyal to one or two places nearby. A clear rule such as “buy 8 coffees, get the 9th free” makes sense to them at once. Families in residential districts tend to come at the weekend, and medina visitors may pass only once.
You choose one reward and the number of stamps. No points and no tiers, so there is nothing to explain at the counter during the rush.
Example numbers for a café in Meknes
An example to replace with your own prices: a coffee at 10 DH and a “buy 9, get the 10th free” card. The customer spends 90 DH before the reward, which costs you what one coffee costs to make, not 10 DH. If the card brings a student or a Hamria office worker back one extra time a week, the MAD 149 per month plan is easy to compare with those extra visits.
These are example numbers: put in your prices, your margin and your real reward before you decide.
Bringing back customers who drift away
In Meknes as elsewhere, a customer who moves district for studies or work can stop coming without a word. Stampylo can send an automatic WhatsApp reminder to customers who stopped coming, and they can stop messages at any time. You can also offer a birthday gift: only the day and month are asked.
Offer messages go only to customers who accepted marketing messages, at most one a week, using credit packs.
Google reviews and the dashboard
After a visit, the customer can be invited to leave a Google review. The Google button shows first for everyone, then an optional private rating only you see. Stampylo never gives stamps or gifts for a review. The dashboard shows visits, stamps, rewards and returning customers, with a short summary email every Monday.
Getting started in Meknes
No hardware to buy: a tablet or phone for the counter, and a TV if you want one. 14-day free trial with no card, then MAD 149 per month, MAD 399 for 3 months or MAD 1,490 per year. In Morocco you pay by bank transfer from the dashboard or with a prepaid activation code. Stampylo does not connect to your till, but the order number can follow your receipt numbers.
Questions
Does the card work in the medina as well as in Hamria?
Yes. All it needs is an internet connection on the counter tablet or phone and on the customer's phone.
Do my student customers need to install an app?
No. They scan the QR code with the camera and the card opens in the browser. They can keep it on WhatsApp or in Google Wallet.
Can a customer cheat to get more stamps?
A stamp is added only to an order confirmed ready. Every action is logged with the screen link that did it, and a daily check flags abnormal days.
